EVALUABLE UNDER THE PUSHING FORCE CHANGING SITUATION

This IP is about a sensor system for measuring tactile sensation considering tactile movement. The relationship between the tactile sensation for samples and the sensor output of the tactile sensor system controlled with various pushing forces was investigated. As a result, it was found that the developed tactile sensor system considering pushing force is available to evaluate touch feeling. The sensor system which can control its height to get a desired initial pushing force and the pushing force during sensor scanning was developed. The sensor system describes “Rough-Smooth” tactile sensations when pressing force is decreased gradually. The sensor system describes “Hard-Soft” tactile sensations when pressing force is increased gradually.

- SkyManhole monitors water levels and other conditions in sewer pipes at low cost and over a wide area. - It is an IoT sensor system that can be integrated into the underside of manhole covers. - It enables early detection of urban flooding and pinpointing the sources of inflow during rainy weather. 【Features】 ■ Low power consumption and long operating time By utilizing LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) for low power consumption and switching communication frequency according to water levels in the pipe, we have achieved long operating times (approximately 3 years on battery power) by reducing power consumption during normal conditions. ■ Wide range of water level information collection We have demonstrated wireless communication from manhole covers up to about 1 km. Continuous operation of the drainage treatment blower leads to an over-aeration state, causing a decrease in the pH level within the purification tank and creating a harsh environment for microbial growth, which reduces purification capacity. To maintain the oxygen level in the purification tank at an appropriate state, intermittent operation of the blower is desirable. In this regard, when controlling based on dissolved oxygen measurement (DO value), it indirectly confirms nitrification by observing the oxygen consumption of microorganisms, which further leads to over-aeration and unnecessary electricity consumption. Therefore, by monitoring the nitrification cycle in real-time using ammonia/nitrite/nitrate sensors, we can quickly detect the completion of nitrification and prevent over-aeration. Agri Palette is a sensor system that collects essential data for plants, including soil (soil moisture, soil temperature, soil EC, soil pH), air (temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide concentration), and sunlight exposure, and records this data on the web (database) through a gateway (receiver), allowing for visualization via an app. ■Development Background The use of sensors for the "visualization" of agriculture is regarded as fundamental to smart farming; however, many sensors cost hundreds of thousands of yen, leading to limited adoption outside of advanced horticulture facilities. Since early 2018, Momo Co., Ltd. has been delivering agricultural IoT systems for commercial use to multiple agricultural corporations and major coffee chain companies. (These systems are being utilized not only in closed horticulture but also in open-field cultivation.) Since August 2018, with the support of the JA Zen-Noh Group, we have repeatedly conducted tests to improve sensor accuracy, developed calibration logic, and researched and gathered feedback to reduce costs. We have successfully incorporated all previous achievements into the specifications of Agri Palette and have managed to lower the price, leading to its release through Makuake.

Therefore, we have jointly developed a sensor system with the Kagawa Prefectural Industrial Technology Center to detect the slipping of the gripped object with high precision. This sensor has a unique structure that combines a parallel spring and detection elements, allowing it to detect and measure slipping within the gripping surface of the chuck, regardless of the shape or size of the object being gripped. Additionally, it utilizes two types of detection elements: strain gauges and piezoelectric films, enabling it to respond to both static and dynamic slipping. It can detect slips on the order of 0.1 mm and employs the technology from the pending patent JP2022-92993.
